Cathedral of St.Tiron

Vlak naast mijn hotel, de Cosmos Hotel met 3 sterren kwam ik deze monumnet tegen, de Cathedral of St.Tiron the Martyl. Dit was wel een van de mooiste in Chisinau en een bekende plek om te trouwen

Na een wandeling door de stad Chisinau kwam ik een klein parkje tegen waar men spullen verkocht...zoals deze Moldova en fel rode russische T-shirts. Ook de nodige breiwerk en oude schilderen ware te koop.

I visited Cochabamba (Bolivia) for the third time now and stayed in the same hotel....near the Plaza Colon. This I decided to catch the night-time atmosphere of the "City of Eternal Spring".

The port of Ijmuiden

The harbour festival IJmuiden is a cultural and nautical event which annually takes place in their beautiful fishing harbour. Within the framework of Sail Amsterdam, this year there is a special side event, the PreSail IJmuiden. I made a short trip to the harbour to catch some of the mighty sailing boats.

Na een transatlantische vlucht met USair via Philidephia arriveerde ik eindelijk in Miami. Ik had via internet een leuke sfeer volle hotel geboekt in North Miami Beach. De volgende ochtend maakte ik een kleine wandeling naar het strand...het was nog erg vroeg...Zie hier het resultaat.

Eenmaal veilig aangekomen op de Internationale airport van La Paz - El Alto, voelen weer de knagende hoofdpijn. We zitten tenslotte op een hoogte 4,200 meters. We lopen naar buiten en genieten van het uitzicht...naar het zuiden zien we de machtige Mount Illiami (6458m) boven de bouwvallige huizen van El Alto uitsteken.

Winter in La Paz

Na een nacht slapen in de Copacabana Hotel, downtown La Paz, op de Av.16 de Julio 1802(El Prade) was het weer tijd om te vertrekken. We nemen een taxi om naar het vliegveld El Alto, gelegen op 4,200 m te vertrekken. Op de top van de Altiplane nemen we nog even de tijd op de machtige vulkaan Illimani (Aymara voor "Gouden Arend"), hoogte 6458 m, vast te leggen. Het is winter in La Paz...een strak blauwe lucht en matige temperatuur van 14-16 graden.
