IJswatervallen en...s
De winter kan een mooi seizoen zijn om vakantie te vieren. In [url="http://www.visitnorway.com/nl/Bestemmingen/Oost-Noorwegen/Rondane-National-Park/What-to-do/Attractions/Rondane/" target="_blank"]NP Rondane[/url] in het zuiden van Noorwegen is je vakantie sneeuwzeker. Niet alleen zul je bergen sneeuw aantreffen, in de omgeving van het Rondvatnet meer zul je ook [url="http://www.columbusmagazine.nl/europa/noorwegen/reisreporter/fotos/339114.html" target="_blank"]ijswatervallen[/url] zien. Aangezien het meer in de winter volledig bevroren is, kun je op sneeuwschoenen of langlaufski's wandelingen maken langs de mooiste [url="http://www.columbusmagazine.nl/europa/noorwegen/reisreporter/fotos/301964.html" target="_blank"]natuurcreaties[/url]. Met enig geluk kun je ook een [url="http://www.columbusmagazine.nl/europa/noorwegen/reisreporter/fotos/303248.html" target="_blank"]sneeuwhoen[/url] zien. Rondane ligt op circa 310 kilometer ten noordwesten van Oslo. Vanuit Oslo kun je met de auto, trein of bus verder reizen naar Otta. Aan de zuidkant van het Rondvatnet meer ligt de hut [url="http://www.turistforeningen.no/rondvassbu/cabin.php?ca_id=94&fo_id=3777&lang=eng" target="_blank"]Rondvassbu van 'Den Norske Turistforening'[/url]. Op de site van de hut staat aangegeven hoe je verder kunt reizen per auto of taxi vanuit Otta. Het laatste deel naar de hut is NIET per auto bereikbaar en dat zul je dus op sneeuwschoenen of langlaufski's moeten doen. Wij hebben de hut bezocht vanuit een andere hut en hebben dat in een groepsreis gedaan. In een kleine rugzak hebben we de bagage voor enkele dagen meegenomen. De hut is slechts een klein deel van de winterperiode bemand, de maand maart. De rest van de periode is sprake van 'self service'. Dit is allemaal te vinden op de [url="http://www.turistforeningen.no/rondvassbu/cabin.php?ca_id=94&fo_id=3777&lang=eng" target="_blank"]website[/url]. In de omgeving van Rondvassbu zijn prachtige sneeuwwandelingen te maken. Je kunt [url="http://www.columbusmagazine.nl/europa/noorwegen/reisreporter/fotos/300223.html" target="_blank"]over het meer [/url]langs de bergen met watervallen lopen. Je kunt natuurlijk ook de bergen beklimmen voor de uitzichten, maar ook voor het vergroten van je kans een [url="http://www.columbusmagazine.nl/europa/noorwegen/reisreporter/fotos/339330.html" target="_blank"]sneeuwhoen[/url] te ontmoeten. Als al deze winterse kou je te veel van het goede is, dan kun je de hut natuurlijk ook in de zomer bezoeken. Ik heb daar zelf geen ervaring mee, maar de foto's zien er evengoed mooi uit. Volgens de website is het ook dan NIET mogelijk de hut per auto te bereiken.
Zoekplaatje
Het is een beetje een zoekplaatje geworden, de sneeuwhoen op deze foto. In de winter is het verenkleed wit en in de sneeuw zie je ze dus makkelijk over het hoofd. In de zomer hebben ze meer de kleur van de rotsen die je ziet, dus ook een prima schutkleur.

Schoolmeisje
Op weg naar Nanga Sumpa, het Ibandorp waar wij 2 dagen zijn geweest, hebben we een bezoek gebracht aan de Delok School. Deze school is opgericht voor alle kinderen uit de omgeving. Voor de meesten is het te ver om dagelijks op en neer te reizen naar huis, dus verblijven zij van maandag t/m vrijdag op het schoolterrein. Het is maandagochtend en dit meisje staat nog wat dromerig tegen de deurpost aan.
Suria KLCC
Aan de voet van de Petronas Towers bevindt zich het chique winkelcentrum "Suria KLCC". Er zijn veel trendy winkels waar je je geld wel kwijt kan. Het centrum is 6 verdiepingen hoog en hier kijk je naar het plafond met nog een klein stukje van de lift, allemaal even glimmend.
Silver Leaf Monkey
De Silver Leaf Monkey heeft de Nederlandse naam Mutslangoer (wetenschappelijk: Trachypithecus cristatus). Ze leven in uiteenlopende typen bossen: rivierbossen, mangrovebossen en kustbossen. Ze hebben een voorkeur voor laagland maar komen ook tot hoogten van 1.700 meter voor. Naast hun hoofdvoedsel dat uit bladeren bestaat eten ze ook vruchten en scheuten. Ze eten ook weleens aarde om hun mineralen aan te vullen. Op de foto zit de aap dromerig op een blaadje te sabbelen.

La Douce France
In mijn kindertijd gingen wij vaak (lekker goedkoop) naar Frankrijk op vakantie. Ik bewaar hele mooie herinneringen aan deze (meestal) rondreizen. Enkele jaren geleden was ik weer terug en maakte daar deze foto van een zuidelijk Frans landschap. Een gedeelte uit de tekst van Charles Trenet (nog ouder dan mijn kindertijd) vond ik zeer toepasselijk. Overnachten in een...
In de hoofdstad Georgetown van het Maleisische eiland Penang is een prachtige blauwe villa te bezoeken, het [url="http://www.cheongfatttzemansion.com/index.htm" target="_blank"]Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion[/url]. De Chinese zakenman en politicus Cheong Fatt Tze heeft het landhuis eind 19e eeuw laten bouwen. Het huis wordt ook wel The Blue Mansion genoemd. Het diende in 2009 namelijk als decor in de gelijknamige film. Inmiddels staat het huis ingebouwd tussen modernere panden, maar eenmaal binnen zul je de rust ervaren. Middenin is een open binnenplaats met een ruimte die als restaurant is ingericht. De kamers liggen rondom en op de 1e etage zijn gemeenschappelijke ruimtes te vinden. Het landhuis heeft meerdere onderscheidingen ontvangen, waaronder de "UNESCO 'Most Excellent' Heritage Conservation Award" in 2000. De gastenkamers zijn fraai ingericht, geheel in stijl met het gebouw. Het ontbijt is uitermate goed verzorgd en de bediening is bijzonder gastvrij. Naast museum is de villa ook een hotel. Twee maal per dag wordt een rondleiding gegeven, die je als gast gratis mag bijwonen. Tijdens de rondleiding is het niet toegestaan om foto's te maken, maar wanneer je in het hotel verblijft, mag dat buiten de rondleding om wel. Het gebouw leent zich uitstekend voor fotografie vanwege de oude kenmerken en de prachtige kleur. Colourful
De Sally lightfootkrab komt veel voor op de Galapagoseilanden. De krabben steken mooi af tegen de lavavelden met hun felle kleuren. Op de foto twee krabben die elkaar wel zien zitten, of juist helemaal niet. Ik weet namelijk niet of dit een paringsdans is of een gevecht. Voor de ontknoping moesten we helaas weer verder.... Petronas Twin Towers
Dankzij de tip van timringers (http://www.columbusmagazine.nl/azie_en_midden-oosten/maleisie/kuala_lumpur/reisreporter/tip/13860/prachtig_uitzicht_op_de_petronas_vanuit_de_skybar.html) heb ik deze avondfoto van de Petronas Twin Towers kunnen maken. Vanuit de Skybar heb je namelijk een fantastisch uitzicht! Wij hebben niet gereserveerd, maar wellicht is het verstandig dat in het hoogseizoen wel te doen....
