Hanchi den Punda An alley somewhere in Punda. While on a shopping spree in Punda walking along somewhere I saw this alley so nicely decorated and I thought why not,it is better than just dumping junk in it, you can see the garbage bin at the end of the alley .

The Swinging Old Lady

Queen Emma Bridge ( "The Swinging Old Lady") A floating pontoon bridge that links the "Punda" (Point Side) and the "Otrobanda" (Other Side) of the Willemstad across the Sint Annabaai Channel. This bridge was built in 1888 by Leonard Burlington Smith, and named after Queen Emma. 16 floating pontoon boats support the “Pontoon Bridge.” it swings open (that is why the name "The Swinging Old Lady") using two powerful ship motors, allowing ships to access the port.

Fishing Village

Baan Tai is the longest beach on the island of Koh Phangan, from here you can see the island of Koh Samamui. Along the coast you find many small peaceful fishing villages as this one. Just walking on the beach gives you a pleasant tranquil feeling.

Golden Glow

Yesterday I posted a photo of this natural rock citadel of Uçhisar Castle the tallest point in Cappadocia, visible for a great distance from the region's other towns such as Ürgüp and Avanos. I took this photo from a hot air balloon early in the morning, the sun was just rising and gave this rock castle a beautiful golden glow.

Uchisar is situated at the highest point in Cappadocia, on the Nevsehir-Goreme road, just 5 km from Goreme. The top of the Uchisar Castle, provides a magnificent panorama of the surrounding area. Took this photo from the bus.

De Palm Island

Yesterday I posted a photo of the water park on de palm Island. On this photo you can see the the island in the background in the foreground, the ferry boat that gets you there. Snorkeling is one of the main activities on the island and Aruba boasts many species of fish - including the famous blue parrotfish.

Big Splash

Palm Island is a small private island near the main land Aruba, which is an important tourist attraction. The island is a 5-minute ferry ride from the mainland, making it ideal for day trips and excursions. The island includes a small beach and a water park, in this park there is the gigantic bucket which slowly fills with water, at certain moment it just turns over and makes a big splash,kids and grown up seems to have a lot of fun standing under the "Waterfall"

Sunset on Eagle Beach

I took this sunset photo at the Eagle beach one of the nicest beaches in Aruba. Not sure how it got that name, but it is the place where locals want to have a party. The sand is so pure you’ll swear it’s sugar, and water so calm, you’ll think you’re in a pool. ( No, I did not stick the bird on the branch) pure lucky shot.

Emotion in Motion

Yes "Emotions" what is that, It is the feeling you put into everything you do, physically and emotionally. Emotion is associated with mood, temperament, personality and disposition, and motivation. I took this picture while a group of dancers were giving a show at the Historical Museum in Aruba. You can see on the expression on this man's face that he is putting body and soul into the dance.

St. Nocolaas Church

Ootmaarsum is beautiful little town with it's crocked streets and little shops and terraces,it is also called the city of art, of course as in most little towns in Holland you find churches. This is the Dutch Reform church built in 1810-1811. This picture was taken in December it was -9 degrees.

Pool Art

Baan Samui Resort is located on the secluded Chaweng Beach away from all the mundane chores of every day life. A beautiful and colorful resort, this photo was taken at the pool which is situated almost in the sea. In the evenings you can sit and relax with a cocktail in this beautifully decorated surroundings.

Wish Tree

A wish tree in Cappadocia/Nev?ehir/Turkey. The valley seen behind is Avc?lar Valley. Wish tree is an important figure in Turkish mythology and folklore and is still respected among common people today. Main practice with wish trees, as seen with the one shown, is tying small pieces of fabric to branches of the tree. It's believed that by this one's wish will be granted. The practice itself is not a part of Islamic culture.

Thai BBQ

This is Thai BBQ a double dish right on your table No huge BBQ out in the yard but a small round pot on the table with glowing coals underneath, the top part you put your meats and on the side it is deep with bouillon in it that is where you put the vegetables and noodles. very simple, it does not look very appetizing but the taste is delicious Oh yes, there is a buffet table with all meats,Fish, vegetables and noodles,you can eat as much as you like.

Rollings Hills

I actually took this picture from the car on the way from Stellenbosch to Hermanus. The landscpe is so beautiful, every corner you take it is different, I took many but I like this one with the rolling hills and the different shades of wheat (grass could not see it clearly) and the green in between.

Sunset onTwo Rocks...

Sunset on "Two Rocks" beach. Two Rocks is the name of the little resort I stayed in on island of Koh Phangan . It got it's name because of the 2 rocks that are on the beach. It is on the east side of the island in the province of Ban Tai, the nicer beaches are on the west side but nevertheless very pretty.

Top Rock

This photo was taken from the Top Rock Bar-Lounge, it is located on a lush green hill near Ao Wok Tum. You have to climb 145 steps to get there, the last 20 steps was a steep ladder but it is worth it, you have the most beautiful panoramic view. On the left hand side you can see the town of Thong Sala just before the sun went down. There are no chairs, just a Hammock and lounge cushions,great food and coctails. Really chilling out.

Night Market

Thong Sala has a colorful food night market which consists of multiple food carts ranging from ready made curry stalls, made-to-order restaurant carts, noodle carts, chicken vendors, and desserts. There is quite a variety and it is much cheaper than the reataurants.

Smokey Sunset

On our way back from Hermanus we had to divert our route as there was a big fire on the mountains, so we stopped at a place called "Strand" for something to eat. Strand is a huge industrial centre on the edge of Cape Town. It has a lovely long beach. The sunset was beautiful the colors were very intense that was because of the smoke from the mountain fire.

Thirsty Monkey

On the island of Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, the monkey undoubtedly qualifies as man's best friend. This isn't surprising, since for centuries the people here have used monkeys to do the hardest part of the work climbing up the trees to "pick ripe cocnuts nuts" on their coconut plantations. While visiting one of these farms this little monkey came on my arm while I was drinking water from the bottle , he looked at me with his beautiful big sad eyes so I gave him some in the bottle cap, he sure was thirsty he kept coming back for more.

Walking Kitchen

Took this photo on my last day in Thailand, on the island of Koh Samui This lady making a living carrying her kitchen and stock on her shoulders, while behind her is a store with expensive design sunglasses, big contrast. The photo is not very sharp because I was hesitating to take the picture, the lady did not look pleased about it, anyway after I took the picture I gave her some money.( the chicken on the BBQ did not look very tasty).

Deep In Thoughts

While visiting the bay Grote Knip,we stopped on top of the cliff to buy some snacks and drinks. This man and a woman who were selling all home made snacks, were very glad with our arrival because business was very bad that day. While the woman was getting our snacks ready I saw the old man staring into space, I wondered what he was thinking off. I secretly took this picture.

Up,Up and Away

Ballooning over Cappadocia is like a dream. We went up early in the morning just as the sun was rising The spectacular surrealistic landscapes are beautiful, the balloon gently drift over and between fairy chimneys, pigeon houses, unique rock formations, through impressive valleys, each with distinctive rock formations, colors and features. It is a unique experience floating through the air with no sensation of motion, drifting with the stream up to 1500 feet. In the background of this photo you can see Mount Erciyes 3916 meters high.
