Shield of a Cree Indian

Edmonton,
Canada

The Cree tribe is one of the largest American Indian groups in North America. There are 200,000 Cree people today living in communities throughout Canada and in parts of the northern United States.
The Cree are an artistic tribe, known for their quillwork (from porcupine quills), woodcarving, and beadwork. Beadwork was often used in trade, but it was also used to tell an individual family's history
Indian headdresses constructed from feathers are known as warbonnets.
The Indians not only used feathers for decorations on their colthing, they also usw animal skin, beads, porcupine needles
I made this picure in Canada at the Heritage festival in Edmonton.
This shield was on the back of one of the Indians .
