PHOTOGENIC NAPLES - THE PLACE FOR A PERFECT VACATION. WHEN TO GO AND WHERE ARE THE BEST BEACHES?

What is the best time to go to Naples?
Naples, where winters are mild and summers are hot has two distinct seasons. But the best time to visit this town is from September to October when the heat has subsided, and tourism season just gets started. Another great time for a trip here - from mid-April to the end of June. Spring is not just a little cooler there, but there also are fewer tourists. In addition, at the time various fruit trees start to bloom, so the city gets really pretty really fast.
What parts of the city we need to visit?
Naples for us is the perfect direction, which allows combining both the beauty of nature and beauty of an old town. Naples Old Town is considered the largest in Europe and is included in the UNESCO list of objects.
Get acquainted with the old town of Naples from the cathedral. Close to Christmas Street (Via San Gregorio Armeno), you can also find boutiques, where year-round you can shop for various Christmas decorations or souvenirs. Numerous churches and Old Town streets lead to the massive Plebiscite Square. Here you will find more than 400 years old Royal Palace, and next to it - San Francesco di Paola church, famous for its elegant, ancient Greek Doric columns.
Where are the best beaches?
The Naples is a large port city, so if you plan to stay in the region of Campania for a bit longer, or you are looking for beach recreation, visit resorts which are located just nearby this town. Near Naples you can find many wide white sand beaches, although there are also some black ones too – those are the volcanic origin.
Beach entertainment and education can be combined in one of the most romantic myths braided Italian resorts - Sorrento. It is said that here the sirens sang their songs trying to lure the mythical Greek hero Odysseus.
The Amalfi Coast is famous for its lovely views, cozy seaside houses and luxury residences. Celebrities love the latter, so do not be surprised when you will see a couple on the street, who looks a lot like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - they have been to Amalfi too.
Once who would like to recharge their health batteries, should visit the largest island in the Gulf of Naples - Ischia. Here you can soak in 70 hot volcanic springs, so travelers from around the world flock here not only to enjoy a 33 km long beach pleasures but also to enhance their health. Why don’t you?
Where to go if you are nature lovers?
It is pretty typical to be able to see the mighty volcano Vesuvius from an ordinary house in Naples. There, at the foot of the volcano, are located two famous archaeological sites - Pompeii and Herculaneum. These in 79 AC buried cities today are one of the most visited tourist attractions. The volcano is still active, so in order to look into the "jaws" of it, you need to be at a safe distance, from where the onslaught of hot volcanic gas is streaming.
By the way, the same Vesuvius has given local people extremely fertile soil, and now in the Vesuvius National Nature Reserve, you can enjoy abundant greenery and wildlife. The volcanic slopes are overgrown with birch, bright yellow gorse, and lichens and are full of wild animals, so if you are green thumb – you will also find that to do there too.
