Hpa-An until recently was not on the usual route through Myanmar and therefore often skipped, however since the opening of the border crossing nearby with Thailand it sees more visitors often backpackers doing a visa run. But still I think remains a pleasant town to spend a couple of days.
Hpa-An (pronounced Pa Ahn) is a small city surrounded by lush green rice fields, limestone mountains and a huge amount of caves.
Here you see the Kyauk Kalat Pagoda situated on top of a small limestone dot and it looks like he is almost falling over. Beautiful place to spend sunrise or sunset.
