Wat loopt er op de tent

Around 01.00 am last night there was a screaming sound just outside our tent.
It was that loud that it woke me up. The sound lasted for about 10 seconds and after this time the sound faded away.
It sounded like an animal who's breath was taken away by a predator.
Seconds later there were footsteps on the roof of our accommodation (a large tent with an extra thatched roof structure)
What could this be?
I listened to it for about 20 minutes and my wife next to me didn't even wake up.
She must have her earplugs in, I thought.
The footsteps came down the roof and disappeared into the bush.
It was quiet again and it was time to go back to sleep although it kept me thinking what this could have been.
Most likely it was a leopard that killed something right next door and took it away from the ground up to the roof for a safe dinner away from other predators.
The only sound which remained was the barking sound of some baboons and screaming monkeys not far from here.
Tomorrow I will do my CSI imitation and I will find out what was going on on our roof.....
