We drove south along the pan-american highway to our next destination. Despite the low dark, clouds and not being able to admire the view it was a nice ride. As we approached Chimborazo I glared out of the window wanting so much to see the top of the highest volcano in Ecuador, but alas the peak at 6288 m was engulfed in cloud.
Then suddenly I saw a small break in the clouds and a white streak, was that snow, and within no time I watched the clouds disappear revealing Chimborazo in its full glory against the clear blue sky.
