Scheveningen Under...
Scheveningen Beach occupies a strip about 9 kilometers in length. On busy days the beach is filled with hundreds of people having fun playing or just soaking in the sun. I took this picture a few weeks ago from the beach, the Skyline looked very beautiful and impressive under gray skies. Please open.....
Cactus Sunset
Aruba's rolling landscapes are robust with cactus plants. Many people seem to think that Aruba is a small flat island, but it is quite the opposite, the north side of the island is very rugged and hilly. It makes the most spectacular sunsets.
A Tisket a Tasket a..
This is a scan photo, since we are doing portraits I wanted to enter this one. I went on holiday to Nepal a long time ago 1994,and had just a little compact camera. The guide took us up a mountain ( don't remember the name) to visit some of the local people and see their living situations. This little girl was just coming up the mountain with her basket full of I think vegetables, the basket is almost as big as she is, and she was all smiles. And I thought she looks like me when I was a little girl and she does, my children agrees.
Colorful Dancing Kids
As I mentioned with my last photo, the Servus Heritage Festival is an annual event in Edmonton Canada. One of the 85 countries to participate was China,of course song and dance, there were many children groups. It is amazing how beautifully these kids can dance, the costumes were very colorful and beautiful.

Dive Dive Dive
I took this picture while sitting on the Becuti Beach having coctails It is unbelievable how these pelicans can be so accurate , they fly around quite high up above the water and when they spot a fish they just dive straight down even in between the people swimming in the water and bingo. It was not easy photographing because they move very fast and unexpected, many times I just had a splash of water and there is back lighting which makes this picture look B&W.
Peruvian Dancer
Apu Inka is a Peruvian cultural music group performing live music with singing and dancing. I went to one of their performance in Utrecht Their goal is expressing the Inca culture based on the connection with Mother Earth and the respect for the three elements, the source of life. They do this through music, dance and story telling from the three distinct regions of Peru: the coastal area, the Andes mountains and the Amazon forests. This is one of the dancers in traditional costume.

Caribbean...Beauties,
No, This is not carnival. Arubans are well-known for their fun, easy-going festivals and events. Also similar to the Bonbini festival is the weekly Caribbean festival This festival highlights Caribbean cultural heritage through traditional dance, music, food, and art. The festival begins with a music and dance performance, continues with an open-air street market. It is not only for tourist locals also enjoy these festivals. It was not easy to take pictures it was quite dark on the stage

Swaying the Tumba
Every Tuesday evening the Bon Bini Festival happens rain or shine. "Bon bini" means "welcome" in Papiamento. It happens year-round at Fort Zoutman in Oranjestad and you can enjoy the Antillean dancers in their most beautiful and colorful costumes, swaying to the typical Aruban music played by the "Tingilini box".

Prehistoric Cousin
Iguana can be found all over Aruba, took this picture in the Wilhelmina Park in Oranjestad When the animals are frightened by a predator or humans, they will attempt to flee, and if near a water, they dive into it and swim away. If cornered by a threat, the Iguana will extend and display the dewlap under its neck, that is a flap of skin which hangs under its neck, they stiffen and puff up their body, hiss, and bob its head up and down at the aggressor,If threat persists the Iguana can lash with its tail, bite and use its claws in defense, they can become up to 2 meters long from head to tail
Mating
Butterflies are beautiful interesting creatures and I've always loved watching them, but really knew little about them. After doing some research found the name of these two..."Orange Lace Wing" This photo was taken in Aruba Butterfly Farm.
Sunset on Eagle Beach
Miles of white powder sand and friendly surf. That is Eagle, beach one of the nicest beaches in Aruba it is rated one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. What is more romantic enjoying a coctail with the setting sun.
Amsterdam City Theatr
The Stadsschouwburg aims to be the most prominent centre for theatre culture in the Netherlands. It builds on its tradition to offer a varied and renewing contemporary programme, an ejoyable experience for artist and public alike. Established acts are alternated with performances which explores the boundaries of the discipline. In the future these innovative projects will become more prominent. The productions are staged in the Main Hall, the Top Hall and the Studio. Shortly, a black box theatre will be added. Thanks to Wikipedia. This is the last for theme architecture

Cruise Ship
Aruba is considered one of the most tourism-friendly islands in the Caribbean, besides Papiamento most everyone speaks English, and they accepts the U.S. dollar, actually in Oranjestad everything is priced in dollars. Outside Oranjestad the prices are shown in Aruba guilders. Many years ago you could only get to the island by plane, now a days huge cruise ships docks there everyday in the high season, one bigger than the other, it is a beautiful sight watching these ships come in. I think they look like huge apartment buildings..
Runder Vreugd
I saw this beautiful farm house called Runder Vreugd while driving on the way to Nederhorst den berg. It consist of one big main building two sort of sheds and a smaller house ,which is not in sight. It was a cloudy day, which I think gives the photo a typical dutch touch. Please open for a better view.

Architecture-Juliana.
The Queen Juliana Bridge, Willemstad. Completed in 1974 it towers 185 feet over the harbor, this is highest bridge in the Caribbean (and one of the tallest bridges in the world.) The bridge overlooks St. Anna Bay as well as Willemstad. Although the colors might at first seem strange, they are the colors of the flag of Curacao. This was taken from Fort Nassau where you have a good view of the St Anna Bay, Punda and Otrabanda.

Simple Architecture
These kunuku houses are built from limbs of divi-divi trees that have been woven together, packed with mud and dung, and then covered with lime and aloe. Long ago tree limbs and corn stalks were woven together to form the roof but now a days they have galvanized (zink) roofs, electricity and running water. The toilets are always built in the back away from the house.
Atlas Moth
When I first saw this Moth I thought it was not real but it was, moths unlike butterflies have their wings open when resting. The Atlas moth is a very large brightly colored moth. In fact, if you consider it's total wing size, it is the largest moth in the world, must have been about 15-17 cm wide. This moth does all it's eating in the larva stage. It flies mostly at night They are called Atlas Moths because its wing patterns resemble maps. The Atlas Moth's wings have triangular transparent "windows" whose purpose they don't know. The wing tips have a hooked shape, some says resemble a snake's head complete with eye, to scare off predators.

Handelskade by night
The Handelskade is definitely one of the most beautiful waterfronts of the world! This historic waterfront, with colourful Dutch colonial buildings, is "the" face of Curaçao to the outer world. Where else in the world do you sit on a terrace in the city center, enjoying a beer or a coffee while a vessel (small boats, cargo ships, oil tankers and cruiseships among others) enters the harbour and pass just 100 feet in front of you? This is a view no other place in the world can offer you and it's unique! Took this photo on my last evening in Curacao,it was not completely dark, too bad it was a bit cloudy and windy so no nice reflection in the water. On the Left side of the photo you can see the little ferry boat.
Baby Bridge
I just posted the collapsed natural Bridge, this one is called the Baby Bridge,it is about 50 meters from the collapsed one. You can walk on it if you like, i did not, the winds are very strong and i was not sure my old legs would hold. Fantstic nature construction.
Dare devils on the...
Aruba's Natural Bridge collapsed on September 2, 2005. Aruba's stunning geological formation where years of erosion from the sea has carved its way through coral rock forming a 100 foot bridge, 25 feet over the sea, which was the largest of its kind in the Caribbean It is still a very popular spot, here you can see local dare devils still using it as a bridge, it is quite dangerous with the big crashing waves against it.

This pink Dutch-style building holds dozens of shops - many of which are jewelry stores., you can also buy design clothing and trinkets, in the middle is kind of court yard with little stands where yiou can buy souveniers It is the most photographed landmark building in the city.
