Our visit to Bagan this year coincided coincidentally with the Ananda Temple festival. This is one of the most famous pagoda festivals in Bagan. Villagers from around Bagan come to the festival in traditional bullock carts and set-up camps for the whole duration of the festival. Entertainment includes dance, theatre and singing as well as stand-up comedy and to top the bill a pop band.

When we first realized our visit was aptly timed we were pleased, but we never expected so many people and so many motorbikes filling the roads. Youngsters came from as far as Mandalay to see the band that played late into the night.

Escaping the crowds we found a quiet spot in the and took some rest in the shade playing with the camera and the shadows in the temple complex.
