Having spent a wonderful day at Khumbalghar fort we were returning through the village to our hotel just as the buffaloes were also returning home for the day. The large but docile beasts were slowing making their way along the narrow paths when suddenly their nostrils captured a strange unfamiliar smell stopping them dead in their tracks and despite being prodded and pushed by their herders refused to budge.
